one year... and no, I'm not returning.
Few weeks ago, I received the notification that an old story I wrote for the Mentalist on an Italian site for fan-fiction got a new review. The reader asked also if and When I was going to write again somethng about the show, in particular about the possibility of Jane and Lisbon as a couple. Well, I was thinking to, actually, I even had a couple of stories already planned in my mind, silly romances about cyber-dating and a sentence preent in season 1 of new girl: "a guy's feet always point to what he desires". I was really going to put everything on pper, and then, I remembered why I had abandoned the fandom- in Italian- and I went looking for that reason.
Now, Tromana knows all about it, as last year I ranted and ranted and ranted about this whole thing , but I haven't been writing in Italian about The Mentalist fandom in over a year, after I took part in a contest. It wasn't that I lost. I know I'm not such a talented writer, especially, and this is kind of crazy, when it comes to writing in Italian. Really, it wawn't. It wasn't even the fact that I was last. It's the story I was last to, the fact that because "Jane is Jane, Lisbon is Lisbon, theu are as in IC as they gets, and the net is filled with stries about him reflecting on his past and remembering his family while thinkng about where he stays with Lisbon". So, a story that is requested to be IC, isn't taken in proper consideration because they are, indeed, IC (and, God help us, deep!) while a story where Jane behaves like a five years old and threws water baloons at his coworkers scores highter than mine... in a contest where it was requsted to have the characters being IC. ("and no crakfic, parody, nonsense")
(Yeah, I know...)
So, no. I am not interested to keep writing IC if they are going to get talked down just because they are IC, and IC, if I am not doing parody or crack!fic, is what I do.
