2013 book meme
Borrowed from
tromana because I am an avid reader and I couldn't help it :)
Looking back, did you read more books than you thought you would this year, less than you thought, or about what you predicted?
A bit less, I guess. Unfortunately, as much as a rapid and avid reader as I am, by need to read increase and decrease according to my feelings. So, when I am down, there is nothing, nothing, I can do to bring me to read. And this year, it's been on the low side of things.
What was your favourite book this year?
It's Italian: Una piccola Impresa meridionale by Rocco Papaleo. He wrote the short novel and wrote, directed and starred the movie based on the book; it's his debut novel, but wow, wasn't it great? I think I'll try to catch the movie as well- just to see if, as he did it himself, he was as close as possible to the story.
What’s your least favourite book this year?
The homwcoming by C.Starud. Niceville's novels had lost their appeal, apparently. But I'd also say 40:Love by Madeline Wicham (that was released in Italy only this year).
Book that was better than you expected?
Uhm. The Donovan Brothers novels by Victoria Dahl. Sexy, but also full of reality as well, with a great insight in the chracters.
Book that could have been better?
Uhm. Destined by A. Pike.
Characters you liked
ah, the whole ensemble of Una piccola impresa meridionale. And The Donvan Brothers. Especially jamie. I love the guy. I swear.
Characters you disliked
All the characters from 40:Love, and the majority from Destined. And, as I am admitting that I read 50 shades... Anastasia.
