the x-files season 10, Under the dome, crossing lines
Gosh, I haven't been this exited about new things being published and airing on tv in a while, so...yes.
Last week the X-files: Season 10 comic book went out. I red it, and it's amazing. Way better than anything that has been published, as comic and novels, about the show, probably because there are the creative minds, including Carter, of the show behind it. And it's in continuity with everything, set in present time! And in issue one we learn thatDana's baby never actually died, but she gave him up for adoption and told only Fox about this, faking the child's death to keep him out of her crazy life with crazy scentists and aliens and conspirancies.
I also saw the pilot episode of Crossing Lines. I missed it three weeks ago when it aired in Italy, and gotta say, I am kind of happy about it. Why? I never fancied, acting wise, Italian actress Gabriella Pession, but here, playing Italian Police Agent Eva Vittoria, she is just... wow. She is great. She is a beatiful woman, and her acting improved dramatically over the last few years. She is amazing, and when she acts in English she just gaves her best . In one of her main scenes, she was opposed to a holy monster such as Donald Sutherland, and she was simply magnificent. The story is good-well, there are the creators of Criminal Minds behind it, after all- and the general acting too. A cast from all over the wolrd, amd they simply compliment each other. It's not a Babel as I feared, it's a perfect balance, with Sutherland being the icing on the cake.
Under the dome? Wow. I am quite a fan of the most recent Stephen King related works, and the adaption of his owrk is quite good. I like it as a product, even if I am not sure how long I will follow it. I think there is a good chance I'll stick around in the long run, even just to see how different from the book- I know the synopsys of- it will be. But in general, if quality doesn't degenerate, I tend to stick around when soemthing is apreciated as much as this thing (in fact, last year I said since episode one that I was probably already done following the following...)
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a copy of Under the dome to find, because I want to read the whole book before next episode of thow airs...
